Human pin cushion!

I am covered in holes on my arms - so much so I look like a druggie!   Why you ask?

Well I am one of those lucky lucky people who have no veins.   And when I have to have a blood test - they always have to have more than one try.    I also don't seem to have blood!     Now and then when they do hit a vein - within a few seconds of trying to get the blood needed - it just fizzles out.

The worst thing is the older I get - the worse it is getting - and unfortunately I have passed on this wonderful gift to my daughters!     Most times now - they just have to go for the hands, wrists or jugular (and no I am not kidding!).    I confess I hate the wrist ones cos it hurts like a BITCH!

It is funny really - I always warn them - and always say get out your butterfly - some places I go to - I have seen people suddenly take their lunch hour when they see me walk in.

Yesterday was not too bad - it only took her 3 tries.   The record is 13 - that time - they gave up and went straight for the femur artery - NOT FUN!~

ok - I mentioned a few posts back about buying a Wii and Guitar Hero III.     We had the great unveiling over thanksgiving weekend - and I sucked the big one.   Could not even get through a song... although late Sunday I did manage to finish one.. on easy... first level.

Yesterday afternoon I decided to pick it up again and keep trying.

Well all I can say is...

I ROCK!!

I went from not being able to finish a song - to blasting through 7 levels!!     I am stuck at the moment on a wicked version of the Charlie Daniels Band Devil went down to Georgia

I even beat Slash in the Guitar Battle - not EASY!!

Christmas Karma

I am sure I am going to get some.  For the past week I have been doing good deeds.   This is not to say I don't do them the rest of the year - but I seem to spill over with them around this time.

I have packed up four boxes of goodies to send via Any Soldier to troops around the world.

While at B&N in the weekend - I saw the stand to buy gifts for kids at the local shelter - so we picked up two fun books for older kids.    I always choose the older kids otherwise they get left out because so many buy stuff for the younger ages.

I have packed up a HUGE box of yummy goodies to take to the food bank.

Bought some DVD's and mags - and sent another box to Anysoldier.

Packed up one of my ebay sales that was going to Australia - and added a whole bunch of extra goodies for free - wish I could see her face when she opens the box and sees all the extras.

Ok .. enough karma from me - now its back to work!

Need to be busy... but

I am just not feeling it!

I do have to organise my desk... so I can actually work out what has to be done.   

Bills need to be paid
filing needs to be filed
I need re-input all my accounting stuff - and do the new stuff.  I cannot really leave it much longer as I have orders coming in and as my inventory is all up the wazoo it is not making it easy.

I have emails that I really need to catch up on.  I needed to catch up on them last week - but with my PC crashing that put me behind, and now I am even more behind.   Some of the emails from friends are over 4 weeks old ACK!

It is 10.48am here and I need to get dressed!    At least all the T'giving stuff is washed, put away, organised etc etc ... although Mike did all that!

I need to wrap Christmas pressies that need to go to NZ - and they need to be boxed up ready to ship out on Monday otherwise I am going to be reamed on postage.

I did pack up some ebay sales, and they are ready to go to the PO.

I need a plan of attack.

I need to feel like attacking!

I think I need a multi vitamin!

it is a new holiday for us - and to be honest - it interferes with my Christmas overspending *LOL*

But we will do the big meal thing - even though its just the four of us - and eat
until we pop!

And now for a very appropriate joke!!

A young man named John received a parrot, named chief, as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.

Finally, John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot. The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute.

Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the freezer.

The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said, "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior."

John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude.

As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

my retreat last weekend went off very well!   I had a great bunch of people there - over half of which were new to my retreats.   Luckily

they said they would come to another one.   I had been promised by the venue that they had a new food service - and that all would be well.  I rang them a few days before the retreat to find out the menu - and I actually changed some of the items they had down..... fish soup??  I mean come on...... 

Well apart from the breakfasts the food was dismal and what really pissed me off was that not ONE of the meals we had - were the ones they had told me we were having!!   ARRGGHH.

Everyone had a good time - and got lots of scrapping done.   Everyone had some fun being pampered by North... and enjoyed the yummy chocolate fondue each night.  You will notice two of the scrappers with their very special and expensive birthday hats on - I want to know why Irene (front right) is not wearing hers!~

I will obviously be looking for a new venue for the 2 retreats I have in this area.    I have two places lined up that are looking great, so will be contacting them in the next week, would have been tomorrow but T'giving is putting a dent in those plans.

I got my I 'heart' you album made up

I made a fun little Christmas mini album - all ready to go for Christmas pics from this year.

And I started on my Christmas cards - here are a couple of photos.   Made about 25 in all - and halfway through making some more.    I even got some images stamped with my new fun stamps - and partly coloured  - ready to layer on to some cards.

I hope to finish these up over the long weekend - and get them addressed and mailed out - because the majority of mine go overseas!

all I can say is.. thank god for snacks!!

Little Green Laptop - I love thee

happy happy joy joy - my baby is back!!    Mike rebuilt it over the weekend - and he even got all my data back YAYYYY.   It runs faster than before - which is nice - I guess I should have known it was on its way to blowupville when it started running so slow.

I only lost one file... well not totally true... part of one file.   For some reason my quickbooks program did not bring over the latest backup file - so it stands at October 11.   Remember all that QB catching up I did last week - well - I have to redo it all.. and then some.. going back to October 11.   Guess I know what my plans are going to be over the long weekend!    Course until I get it back up to date - I can't enter in the stuff from the weekend - which is a PITA because - it means I can't put the boxes of stuff away and I really wanted it all done and tidied up before thanksgiving.

More to come later on - I still have programs to reload - eg my Canon software - so I can upload photos from the weekend!

My ebay stuff went super well.   Had 52 items yes Miss Eat My Dust Shellbilly - you read that right 52 items up for sale - and 50 of them sold!     So yesterday (and more today) it has been the pack and ship centre around here.
