Scrapgrlz Last Retreat of the Year!!

off I go to Presentation!!   Let's make it a good one!!    A wonderful bunch coming, all but one returning retreaters!   Although 7 have not been to this venue before - I know they will have a blast.

The weather has been perfect and seems as though it is going to hold for the weekend.   Not sure where our autumn/winter is - but it has not come yet.   It will be interesting to see if the trees are the beautiful colour they were last year.

I have lots of great prizes and treats for everyone, plenty of chocolate, and stuffed to the gills goodie bags!   This group will also get first look at lots of the new scrappy goodness I am carrying in my store!

Monthly Crop - tonight!

with our Meetup Group.   We have had so much fun this year - and sadly just have one more crop before the end of the year!   Tonight I am hoping to make Christmas tags for my christmas presents.   That is the plan anyway.   I hope creative mojo is on my side.  

In my head they look fantastic - and I have fantastic *ingredients* that I have been sneaking from the Christmas Shoppe at Scrapgrlz  - as you can see - along with assorted papers, paints and ribbons!!

Nutmeg by Cosmo Cricket

Cosmo has done it again with this limited release.   Some of the items are in short supply and once gone from the warehouse - gone for good!    I just know this will be like Early Bird and I won't be able to keep it in stock.

 

The Nutmeg line is perfect for Fall/Autumn and Thanksgiving photos but I think I will save some of it for some Easter layouts and cards too!

 

 

Scrapbooking - we start them young!!

Here is Mandy - just 7 weeks old after attending her first Scrapbook Retreat!!    She is showing off her hat, namebadge and goodybag.    She had a wonderful weekend up at Old Oak although was a little disappointed she did not win the Cricut!!   More to come!!

In the store now!!     It is just gorgeous and I can see so many uses for it!

My own retreat house - Very tempting!!

I have toyed with this idea for a while, to have my own retreat house - rather than using other venues.   Well I have found the *almost* perfect place!   It is a bank repo - so going cheep cheep cheep.   Course now I just need *MY* bank to give me some lovely lolly to buy it with!!... or win tonight's Mega Millions - won't hold my breath on that one.   Went out to look at it yesterday - there are some issues, but going to ring the local county today to see what the full story is.  

This building is fine and would be **P E R F E C T**    as the crop room.   Out the back, there is a patio which looks out over the creek (dry at the moment!) - and then onto a horse ranch.     The land is almost 2 acres so plenty of room.

The house you see in the background is the issue.   Has to be knocked down.  Nothing wrong with it - apart from it is bland, boring and ugly - but it was built without permits!    The previous owners had done quite a bit of work with plantings, and gardens etc... all looks a bit dry at the moment with no water being given to anything - although there is a full sprinkler system in place.    I think the garage was allowed to stay - and there are also 2 cute sheds on the property that match the barn - although personally I think they need to be moved from where they are.

GPS got us a little lost getting there ... well not lost, it just took us about 3 miles further up the road than we needed to go!!   The road changed from paved to gravel to dirt and I was thinking - well this would be no good - fine on a dry sunny day - but the pits in winter!!   However when we eventually found the place, the road is all paved.   However the *getting lost* bit was a pleasant afternoon drive and very pretty!

So fingers crossed, and I will keep dreaming as I find out more info!!

In my email this morning, was my daily horoscope.   It was

You need to focus your efforts on creative projects, as much as possible. They should be more fruitful than you would expect, and lead to greater things quickly. Friends and coworkers are amazed!

You see I signed up for Shimelle's online class - Learn Something New Every Day

Class started on 1 September - and I have been receiving all the links, PDF's etc via email.  I have also logged into the forum and downloaded all the links and files

But so far I have not had time to do ANYTHING!.  I think my first lesson learned might be...

DON'T BITE OFF MORE THAN YOU CAN CHEW!!

However, I know once this retreat is out of the way and probably even before that, I will be able to get on with this and play catch up.   Who knows I might even dabble with some digi .. famous last words... to make it a little quicker.

So here's hoping that friends and co-workers are amazed, that I am more fruitful and that I get to focus on creative projects!
