I am back up and running on a full size real computer with a full size screen and keyboard. TFG!!
I would like to thank my long suffering geeky husband who worked long and hard over the last week to try and get my old PC back up and running. He tried everything... new memory, new power, new this, new that... but nothing did the trick. In the end we ran out of trying new... because it was getting to the stage the PC was going to say HEY you can't do that.. you have changed too much.
So today - we had to bite the bullet and buy a new PC. Ouch... $$$ I would have rather spent on something else, but we had no choice.
At least we didn't have to buy the *bits* you normally do as there was nothing wrong with my screen, keyboard, DVD, and my 2 hard drives (now I have 3!~)
... and we scored a printer/fax/scanner/copier for $20 in the process so the kids are happy - as Cait's printer is dead, and Hannah has a hand me down from me - that is as old as Methuselah.
I would also like to apologise to my long suffering darling husband for putting up with my witchy, bitchy, glitchy, snitchiness over the past week, while I was waiting for everything to be back to normal.
however while I was away - my computer had a major meltdown *sobbing*
It is being rebuilt at the moment, thank god for geeky husbands!! however I am working off my little laptop, which has nothing on it really.. so things are slow.. not to mention the little keyboard and little screen UGH !
have been mine again! My brand new hard drive that crashed a month or so ago but came back to life - has really bitten the dust. Last time it was the Google sidebar that was causing the probs so I just stopped using Google side bar. However it obviously did some long term damage.
So here I am again.... reloading all my software.
Why do I never learn to keep all my current software together - in an easily accessible place. This time I will. I am sick of finding the wrong disk, the old disk, the sample upgrade disk etc etc!! AARGGHH Now where did I put my $#%^$% quickbooks disk.
Luckily my backups were great and I lost nothing. Also luckily I am married to the best geek in the world who stayed up until 3am ripping out the old drive, putting in the new one, and reloading most of my stuff. Thank you Mike!!
However posting will be intermittent until I get everything back up and running, and then play catch up!
