Once again I am doing this... although my week got off to a rather rocky start. So I am playing catchup today and showing my first 3 photos.
December 1 - not a good day. As I had already posted one of our cats Scruffy had gone missing on 28 November - so this was my photo of the day. We had plastered these all over the neighbourhood at main intersections and also Mike had gone door to door on all the streets surrounding us, knocking on doors and if no answer then leaving a flyer. I have to say at this stage of the game - I was not really feeling the whole challenge... or very christmassy at all.
December 2 - Hannah and I spent the day going to all the local shelters - no Scruff to be found at any of them and fortunately no cat with his description in the dead cat book. Doing this was just heartbreaking - so hard seeing how many animals were at these shelters, knowing that many would be put to sleep. Hannah and I were fighting back tears the whole time - and we just wanted to adopt and bring home every single one.
However I had to carry on and this was my photo of the day - getting ready for this weekend - 7 loaves of pumpkin gingerbread along with some muffins with the leftover batter.
BUT wait... I had another photo of the day for December 2 because that night - our neighbour came to say she had found Scruff!!! You have no idea the amount of happy tears that were shed around here!! Here is the 2nd photo.... Mr Naughty Boy You Are Grounded Scruffy - home once again!
December 3 - not a great day again, as I had to get up at 5am and take two heavy duty sleeping pills - then at 6am leave for my crown lengthening dental surgery. Can you say walk like a drunk. Holy hell - I was stumbling and all over the place. Surgery went well - and despite being half zonked on the pills - I still retched all the time - I am sure the periodontist hates me. I spent most of the rest of yesterday sleeping off the remainder of the sleeping pills - along with regular intakes of painkillers - the weirdest part was how sore my throat was - I felt like I had had my tonsils out (again) - my throat hurt worse than the area that was cut.
Despite that - when I was slightly with the program I did manage a photo for the day. I buy one of these HUGE beauties every year - and have it outside by the front door - it always looks so festive and seems to love the cold air - it makes it go redder and redder every day.
So here I am all caught up. Hopefully the rest of my month will be much more christmassy with no more yukky bits! I am hoping my album that I plan to use for my photos arrives today - so I can start working on it in the weekend.
I have picked a Teresa Collins one - I just love it and can't wait to put it together with my photos!!
Good for you for catching up with us! So glad Mr. Scruffy came home. Your album looks cute!
